The Chocolate Man Knows Your Age

Don't tell me your age; you probably would tell a falsehood anyway - but the Hershey Man will know!
YOUR AGE BY CHOCOLATE MATH
This is pretty neat.
DON'T CHEAT BY SCROLLING DOWN FIRST!
It takes less than a minute.
Work this out as you read...
Be sure you don't read the bottom until you've worked it out!
This is not one of those waste of time things, it's fun.
1. First of all, pick the number of times a week that you would like to have chocolate (more than once but less than 10)

2. Multiply this number by 2 (just to be bold)

3. Add 5
4. Multiply it by 50 -- I'll wait while you get the calculator

5. If you have already had your birthday this year add 1759...
If you haven't, add 1758.
6. Now subtract the four digit year that you were born.

You should have a three digit number

The first digit of this was your original number
(I.e.., how many times you want to have chocolate each week).

The next two numbers are

YOUR AGE! (Oh YES, it is!!!)

THIS IS THE ONLY YEAR (2009) IT WILL EVER WORK, SO SPREAD IT AROUND WHILE IT LASTS.

MAJOR POLICE BRUTALITY: Officer Kneed in stomach and repeatedly tased naked guy

Yes, the guy was resisting arrest, but the guy was on the ground. One officer walked around the guy while he was on ground on his back and KNEED HIM IN THE STOMACH. Then, he proceeded to taser him.

The guy should have just put on his clothing, but there was no need for the officer to do what he did.

The video in this article shows nudity so BE AWARE. I am showing this because it is news.

A person in the News Section said that it wasn't police brutality and he got what he deserved. It was police brutality. The police officer shouldn't have kneed him in the stomach. The police officer was standing up and then drop a knee into his stomach with all of his weight. He only got up and ran after he got kneed. The guys "Flight or Fight" mechanism kicked in and he ran. He DID NOT deserve to get kneed like that.

It really sickening to see some of the comments that people have made. Some think that he deserved what he got, but if the naked guy was black, we'd be calling for Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton to say something. I know that this guy didn't get shot and killed, but this reminds me of the BART Officer Shooting.

Michigan: 9 year old Quadriplegic child found dead in storage facility

An excerpt from Quadriplegic child found dead in storage facility:

(CNN) -- Michigan authorities are investigating whether foul play led to the death of a 9-year-old quadriplegic girl whose body was found inside a public storage facility.

"This is a very sad and tragic case that hurts all of us involved in the ongoing investigation," Genesee County prosecutor David Leyton said at a news conference Wednesday.

Shylea Myza Thomas of Flint, Michigan, hadn't been seen in six weeks, and relatives reported her missing Tuesday, Leyton's office said. Her adoptive mother, who is also her aunt, is in custody as a suspect, special assistant prosecuting attorney John Potbury told CNN.

No charges have been filed pending the results of the autopsy, he said.

Because of her physical disabilities, Shylea used a feeding tube. She suffered from quadriplegia because of a "suffocation issue" in her crib at 3 weeks of age, Leyton said.

On Wednesday, Flint police found her body stuffed inside a garbage bag in a public storage facility in Vienna Township, near Flint, Leyton said. The bag was covered in mothballs "in an apparent attempt to mask odors from the dead body," his office said in a news release.

"For her to have to live like that, and then to die and be stuffed into a bag and plastic bin in a storage facility, just breaks my heart," the prosecutor said.

CNN affiliate WJRT reported that the suspect could face charges including murder, first-degree child abuse and welfare fraud.

The station also reported that investigators are trying to determine why the girl's disappearance wasn't reported until six weeks after she went missing.

Somalia has a government!?! And they want what!?! Biggers Guns!?!

Somalia's broken government is ask for the arms embargo to be lifted, so that they can fight terrorists. I'm kind of concerned about giving better weapons to a broken country. My fear is that they will only end up in the hands of the Pirates and possibly Alqaeda. I'm not so sure that it's a smart thing. I can only see these weapons getting into the wrong hands and being used against us.

I say, "Hell, no. You can call me,'Boo Boo,' but I'm no fool. Let us help you get rid of them and then we will help you build the country. After it's stable, then, and only then, will we reconsider the arms embargo."

What are your thoughts?

An excerpt from Somalia wants bigger guns to fight pirates:

(CNN) -- Countries have pledged $213 million at an international conference to boost security in Somalia and halt the country's growing piracy problem.

"We have a unique opportunity to support leaders who have shown a commitment to building peace and rebuilding the Somali state," Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said. "By opening the space for security, we open the door to a better life for Somalia's people."

"The risks of not supporting the new government are too high and the costs of failure too enormous," Ban added.

Organized by the European Union, the conference included leaders from the United Nations and African Union.

As the pledges rolled in, Somalia's prime minister told CNN that international naval patrols in the Gulf of Aden were not solving the problem of piracy in the region.

Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke pointed to the recent increase in pirate attacks as evidence, and called for the U.N. arms embargo on Somalia to be lifted so the government can fight back against the pirates and militant Islamist groups.

"One of our biggest problems is that al-Shabaab has AK-47s, and the pirates have AK-47s, and the government has AK-47s," the prime minister told CNN's David McKenzie in Nairobi, Kenya.

"You can't expect the government to win against such a problem. The only way is to have sufficient capability, and it starts with lifting the arms embargo. You know, we have been handicapped by those sanctions."

The arms embargo on Somalia has been in effect for more than 16 years. Most serviceable weapons and almost all ammunition currently available in the country have been delivered since 1992, in violation of the embargo, according to the U.N. Security Council.

Be Careful!!! Michael Steele might BITE your ear off, like Mike Tyson!!!!

Michael Steele Attends "Tyson" Movie Premiere

The Article:

On Monday night, Michael Steele made what for him has become an increasingly rare public appearance. Neither political nor news media focused, the RNC Chairman attended the premiere of the new documentary film "Tyson" -- about the infamously foul-mouthed, ear-biting boxer -- at the Union Square Loews in New York City.

Steele's appearance, reported by the New York Post's Page Six and confirmed by the RNC, would seem like a relatively peculiar choice of venue for the high-profiled politico. Except that his relationship with Tyson is fairly deep. Steele's younger sister, Monica, was the boxer's second wife and Tyson took to the role of campaign surrogate during Steele's run for Maryland's Senate seat in 2006.

"I would do anything to help Michael," Tyson said at the time. "I would box an exhibition for him. I would even fight again to help Mike. I would do anything."

The day after the movie premiere, Steele was slated to give a morning speech before the Religious Action Committee's national convention, a gathering of reform Jews from across the nation. But the RNC Chair had abruptly canceled that appearance by Monday. An official at the RNC said that the cancellation was not due to another event.

Cheerleading Coach Fired for Posing in Playboy

A cheerleading coach was fired because she posed nude for a playboy website. This posing occurred prior to her being hired. The parent that reported it was a parent of a child that either didn't make the team or got kicked off the team (I can't remember which). The parent states that she would have reported it no matter what. The ex coach said that she had notified the school beforehand and she said that the school said don't advertise it.

Should she have been fired? Was this just a vengeful parent?

BTW...what was the parent doing going through the member portion of the website of playboy? hmmm...is it telling.

Below is the video:

Should 17 year olds be allowed to get the morning after pill?

FDA to allow morning-after pill over the counter for 17-year-olds

an excerpt:

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The "morning-after pill" will be available without a prescription to women 17 and older, the Food and Drug Administration said Wednesday. The minimum age has been 18.

On March 23, a federal court ordered that Plan B, an emergency contraception pill, be made available over the counter to those 17 and up, the agency said in a statement on its Web site. The agency will not appeal that order, the statement said.

In the order, U.S. District Judge Edward Korman also asked the agency to consider whether the pill should be available to women of all ages without a prescription, saying that such a determination is best left to the expertise of the FDA rather than a federal district judge.

Are they freaking killing me? Are they trying to make it harder for parents and easier for children? Next thing you know, they will be making all of the decisions for parents. How about this? The government pays me child support and I give them the all the power they want.

For those that don't know, it's basically an abortion pill so that a person can make a mistake and correct it. Of course, it has to be used in a certain time period after having unprotected sex or a condom breaks, but it is what it is. I am pro-choice, but dang....

Abu Ghraib head finds vindication in newly released memos

Abu Ghraib head finds vindication in newly released memos

an excerpt:

(CNN) -- She said she was a scapegoat. She said she was just following orders. She said she was demoted unfairly.

Now, retired Army Col. Janis Karpinski can say: I told you so.

Karpinski was one of two officers punished over the aggressive interrogations at the notorious Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq. Pictures of detainees caused outrage around the world when they were leaked to the news media in May 2004. The photos showed naked prisoners stacked on top of each other or being threatened by dogs or hooded and wired up as if for electrocution.

Throughout the ordeal, Karpinski maintained that she and her troops were following interrogation guidelines approved by top brass. Today, Karpinski has found validation in a few Bush-era memos released last week by the Obama administration.

"The outrage was over the photographs, because the photographs were living color of what those top-secret memorandums authorized," Karpinski said in an interview Wednesday. "So, it is unfair ... the soldiers may have moved through [the military justice] system, but they never had a fair court-martial. Not any one of them, because they were condemned as one of the 'bad apples.' "

Karpinski, then a brigadier general and commander of Abu Ghraib, was demoted to colonel because of the scandal. A second officer, Col. Thomas Pappas, the commander of the military intelligence unit assigned to Abu Ghraib when the offenses occurred, was relieved of duty and fined in May 2005. Seven low-ranking guards and two military intelligence soldiers -- described by then-Deputy Secretary of Defense Paul Wolfowitz as "bad apples" -- were disciplined.

She was so correct. We just talked about this today in My Intellectual Mind. Something needs to be done to fix the mistake as best as they can. If they don't, I expect lawsuits to ensue.

John Carruthers Stanley: A Wealthy Black Slave Owner

I think I may do a piece in my book about this man.

What do you know about him?

I promise what you find out about him will shock you. I wonder what all these people that say that the White man oppressed me have to say.

John Carruthers Standley

Below is from Black Slave Owners & Free Slaves:

And we have fairly good statistics from 1830 that suggest about 191

Below is from Stanly, John Carruthers(1774–1846) - Barber, plantation owner, Chronology:

Regarding how many slaves Stanly owned, the 1830 census suggests he owned 163 slaves. He has been described as a harsh, profit-minded task master whose treatment of his slaves was no different than the treatment slaves received from white owners. Stanly’s goal, shared by white southern planters, was on expanding his operations and increasing his profits. Prior to a series of financial difficulties in the 1830s, his economic net worth exceeded $68,000.free black slaveholders owned about 650 slaves in North Carolina.

Are the Republicans really that stupid?

Senator says Obama's appearance with Chavez 'irresponsible'

an excerpt:

(CNN) – Sen. John Ensign, R-Nevada, told CNN Sunday it was "irresponsible" for President Obama to have been seen "laughing and joking" with Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez at the Summit of the Americas on Friday.

"This is a person who is one of the most anti-American leaders in the entire world," Ensign told CNN's John King on State of The Union. "He is a brutal dictator and human rights violations are very, very prevalent in Venezuela. And you have to be careful."

"When you're talking about the prestige of the United States and the presidency of the United States, you have to be careful who you're seen joking around with," he also said.

To the Republican Party:

What is irresponsible is not understanding the meaning of "irresponsible" and using it incorrectly. What is irresponsible is not having tea bag parties protesting Bush (43) and his policies. What is irresponsible is lying. What is irresponsible is race baiting. What is irresponsible is making racist remarks. What is irresponsible is being throwing a hissy fit and taking your ball home when you had a chance to participate in forming the stimulus bill. What is irresponsible is putting a black guy as a figurehead of your party only to show psuedo-change. What is irresponsible is talking too much without doing anything productive yourself for the greater good of society. What is irresponsible is attempting to hinder change. What is irresponsible is downing your president while others leaders are showing respect. What is irresponsible is nit picking. What is irresponsible is acting like an ignorant fool. What is irresponsible is saying that people shouldn't register their guns. What is irresponsible is getting upset because we let the world know we did torture. What is irresponsible is trying to hide things. What is irresponsible is greed. What is irresponsible is worrying about the betterment of your pocket book and not the betterment of society. Shall I go on?

This is the Republican party. You get upset because our president is having a good time with another leader, but I just wrote a big block of text that shows your irresponsibility. How much more hypocritical can you be!?! Don't play with me. I just call it as I see it.

And they continue to back TORTURE....smh

Ex-CIA chief: Obama risks national security

an excerpt:

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- A former head of the CIA slammed President Obama on Sunday for releasing four Bush-era memos, saying the new president has compromised national security.

Michael Hayden, who served as former President Bush's last CIA director from 2006 to 2009, said releasing the memos outlining terror interrogation methods emboldened terrorist groups such as al Qaeda.

"What we have described for our enemies in the midst of a war are the outer limits that any American would ever go to in terms of interrogating an al Qaeda terrorist. That's very valuable information," Hayden said during an appearance on "Fox News Sunday."

"By taking [certain] techniques off the table, we have made it more difficult -- in a whole host of circumstances I can imagine -- for CIA officers to defend the nation."

North Korea: Sanctions a declaration of war

North Korea: Sanctions a declaration of war

Story Highlights
# North Korea says sanctions applied against it will be "declaration of war"
# Pyongyang ready to "mercilessly punish anyone" who applies pressure
# U.N. has condemned North Korean rocket launch

an excerpt:

(CNN) -- North Korea said Saturday any sanctions or pressure applied against it following its rocket launch earlier this month will be considered a "declaration of war."

In an announcement on state-run television, the country said it was ready to step up efforts to develop nuclear weapons and poised for a military response to any moves against it.

"The revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK are always keeping themselves fully ready to go into action any moment to mercilessly punish anyone who encroaches upon the sovereignty and dignity of the DPRK even a bit," it said.

Is he seriously threatening the US? Is he saying that if we put sanctions on him he is going to declare war against us or is he just going to go after a weaker country or South Korea?

Iran sentences U.S. journalist to 8 years

Story Highlights
* Secretary of State Clinton "deeply disappointed ... will vigorously raise our concerns"
* Roxana Saberi went on trial earlier this week on charges of spying
* The journalist, an Iranian-American, has freelanced for NPR, other news agencies
* Her father, speaking from Tehran, says the verdict will be appealed

An excerpt:

TEHRAN, Iran (CNN) -- A U.S. journalist in Iran was sentenced to eight years in prison for espionage, her father, lawyer and news reports said Saturday -- a sentence that prompted denunciation from the United States.

Iranian media, including an Iranian judiciary source quoted Saturday by the semi-official Iranian Students News Agency, confirmed the sentence of Roxana Saberi, a 31-year-old Iranian-American from North Dakota.

"I am deeply disappointed by the reported sentencing of Roxana Saberi by the Iranian judiciary," U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in a statement. "We are working closely with the Swiss Protecting Presence to obtain details about the court's decision, and to ensure her well-being."

Clinton said the United States will "continue to vigorously raise our concerns to the Iranian government."

Could this be just a way to get back at the US or was she really spying? What are your thoughts?

Corruption or not? Mayor Racks Up a $68,000 Cell Phone Bill

Mayor accused of racking up over $68K on city-issued cell phone

multiple excerpts from the article:

WEST MIAMI, Fla. (WSVN) -- The mayor of West Miami is in hot water over his alleged overuse of his city issued cell phone.

According to public records, Carasa has racked up huge charges on his city-issued cell phone, to the tune of more than $68,000 in international calls to the Dominican Republic.

The Miami-Dade Ethics Commission has begun an investigation on the mayor, and public corruption officials may have to go no further than the mayor's cell phone bills. They see to show that, starting the month after he was elected into office in May of 2006, hundreds of calls were made to the Dominican Republic. Some calls lasted more than three hours, costing more than $200 each.

In July of 2008, his Sprint cell phone bill reached $11,000, aside from what city officials describe as a brief humanitarian relief drive Carasa organized for the Dominican Republic in 2007. "We have no official business in the Dominican Republic," said City Manager Yolanda Aguilar.

In a letter to the city attorney, the mayor's attorney says Carasa was "never informed of any limitations on the use of the cell phone." A 2002 memo states that the cellular phones are for city business.

Sprint says it accidentally credited the mayor's cell phone bill for months, saying "a mistake just crept into our system and got out of hand." The company says it will eat that money and has turned off the mayor's international access. Sprint, however, is demanding payment for more than $5,000 in new bills and the city attorney concurs.

I have a couple of questions for the city: 1. How did you let it go on for so long? Was it only after Sprint demanded the city to start paying? I mean...they credited most except for NEW bills of more than $5000. There's a reason it was credit. 2. Who was he calling? Family?

For the group: What are your thoughts? Is this corruption? This doesn't seem to be adding up. What do you think?

Did they find Cleopatra's and Marc Antony's grave? We'll see.

Researchers may have found Cleopatra's final resting place

an excerpt

"The discovery of this cemetery indicates that an important person, likely of royal status, could be buried inside the temple. It was common for officials and other high-status individuals in Egypt to construct their tombs close to those of their rulers throughout the Pharaonic period," according to the council.

The expedition has so far turned up 27 tombs, 20 of them shaped like vaulted sarcophagi, and seven simple burial chambers that are reached by staircases. Inside these chambers, the team found 10 mummies, two of them gilded.

Other discoveries include an alabaster bust of Cleopatra, and 22 coins bearing her "beautiful" image, according to council Secretary-General Zahi Hawass. The discovery contradicts some recent reports that describe her as unattractive, he said.

"Among the most interesting finds is a unique mask depicting a man with a cleft chin. The face bears some similarity to known portraits of Mark Antony himself," Hawass said.

Evidence: Bush OK'd Torture

An excerpt:

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Interrogation tactics such as waterboarding, sleep deprivation and slapping did not violate laws against torture when there was no intent to cause severe pain, according to a Bush-era memo on the tactics released Thursday.

"To violate the statute, an individual must have the specific intent to inflict severe pain or suffering," said an August 2002 memo from then-Assistant Attorney General Jay Bybee to John Rizzo, who was acting general counsel for the CIA.

"Because specific intent is an element of the offense, the absence of specific intent negates the charge of torture. ... We have further found that if a defendant acts with the good faith belief that his actions will not cause such suffering, he has not acted with specific intent," Bybee wrote.
